We’ve updated our map of restaurants visited by Guy Fieri on his show Diner’s Drive-Ins and Dives. You can see all the places he visits on his show and then use some theSuggestr.com’s features to see how close your tastes are to Guy’s.

FoodTV food network guy fieri map restaurantsIn the process of renaming our website from MyFriendSuggests.com to theSUGGESTR.com I found that most articles on this refer to using mod_rewrite to accomplish the redirect. However for most us Java guys this may not be the way to go. I used URLRewrite to accomplish this name change and have 301(Permanent redirects) from my old URL to my new one. 301’s work best with search engines and will help preserve your page rank.
Here is the URL Rewrite configuration I used:

301 Redirection Rename Website URLRewriteIn order to better reflect our core value as a site MyFriendSuggests.com has renamed itself theSUGGESTR.com. The primary reason for this was to better reflect that our service provides you suggestions. While we will maintain our friend network functionality we wanted to emphasize that even without a friend network theSUGGESTR.com is able to provide you accurate suggestions based on your personal tastes and preferences.
We plan on officially (re) launching theSUGGESTR.com soon with our new focus on local suggestions.
